Savannah, Georgia

Should you find yourself on the East Coast, I’ll assume you’re either on your way to Florida or returning from it. If that is the case, and you’ve got the time, be sure to spend at least a few hours in Savannah. Most people will mention it in the same breath as Charleston, and whilst I can see why, it’s their differences that deserve merit, not their similarities.
Although our exploration was by no means comprehensive, we’re pretty certain that we saw equivalent neighbourhoods and so hopefully the comparisons should be fair, if nothing else. There is perceived affluence in Savannah, made apparent by the wide, manicured streets and the large, opulent houses. Whether it is accurate or not, the beautiful public gardens and chic boutiques perpetuate the notion. There didn’t appear to be an Old Town, nor were there any miniature houses, but what Savannah does have is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Whilst the outside is of course impressive, it does nothing to convey the majesty that it holds within. As I have said before, I’ll let the photos do the talking.
